Audi A4 vs BMW 3 vs Mercedes Benz C

The Audi A4, Side-by-Side with the Competition

The Audi A4 is synonymous with sophistication and world-class luxury. At Audi Baton Rouge, we proudly stock our new vehicle inventory with a nice selection of this five-passenger, four-door sedan, and we happily recommend it to our Louisiana customers who want a classic car with head-turning personality and character.

The A4 is great for a variety of drivers, thanks to its multiple available body styles, including a sporty wagon and a chic sedan, and its assortment of available tech and safety features.

If you're curious to see how our A4 stacks up against the competition from Mercedes-Benz and BMW, check out the side-by-side comparisons we've put together for you here on this page.

The Audi A4 vs. the Mercedes-Benz C-Class

  • Body style. Both of these luxury models are available as a traditional sedan, for drivers who like to make an impression. Beyond that, both offer different body styles under the same model umbrella, appealing to different types of Baton Rouge drivers. But, if you're the type of person who likes the sporty style and versatile cargo hold of a fun wagon, the Audi A4 is the model for you, because the Mercedes-Benz C-Class isn't available as a wagon.
  • Power and performance. Prefer a little extra oomph when accelerating up to highway speeds? The Audi A4 has it. The A4 starts with a 252-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine rated for 273 pound-feet of torque. But, the base engine for the Mercedes-Benz C-Class is a 241-horsepower four-cylinder, although it is also turbocharged and also rated for 273 pound-feet of torque.
  • Standard features. The Audi A4 also gives drivers more features standard than the Mercedes-Benz C-Class does. For example, every Audi model comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration, and a forward collision mitigation system. Both of these features are only optional for the Mercedes-Benz car, and drivers have to request and add them on separately.

The Audi A4 vs. the BMW 3 Series

  • Engine power. When it comes to base equipment under the hood, the BMW 3 Series standard engine really doesn't compare to the Audi A4 base power. That's because the Audi gives you that turbocharged four-cylinder good for 252 horsepower, while the base BMW model only gives you a 180-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
  • Creature comforts and amenities. The entry-level Audi A4 gives drivers more of the standard features they want than the BMW 3 Series, including power-adjustable front seats that are heated, a forward collision mitigation system, and automatic xenon headlights, all of which are only available as options or on upper trim levels for the BMW model.
  • Cargo and passenger space. While overall, these two models offer similar dimensions for both space and interior size, there are a few notable differences, especially when you explore the wagon style variants of both models. For example, as a wagon, the Audi A4 measures about five inches longer than the BMW wagon. On the inside, this translates to a lot more cargo space in the Audi model than the BMW, with more than 24 cubic feet of space available in the Audi, and just 17.5 cubic feet in the BMW. Elsewhere, the two offer similar amounts of legroom and headroom for you, and your passengers, except in the backseat, where the Audi maximizes its space a little better and gives you more room to stretch out in.
