Audi Q7 vs BMW X5 vs Mercedes Benz GLE 350

Spacious and Ready for Your Family, See How the Audi Q7 Stacks Up Against the Competition

SUVs and crossovers with three rows of seating are perfect for families of all sizes. With three rows to stretch out in, parents rarely have to listen to kids bickering about there not being enough space, and you can safely volunteer for a school carpool shift, knowing you can accommodate a number of kids.

At Audi Baton Rouge, we're proud to bring our Louisiana customers a three-row model that's not just roomy in the back for the kids, but also created with world class materials and pampering amenities for the grown-ups.

The collection of new Audi Q7 models we have in stock at our Airline Highway dealership seats up to seven people, has ample cargo room for all of your gear, and, of course, comes with all the signature luxury and innovation you expect from an Audi.

The Q7 is the largest vehicle in the Audi model lineup, and it has a lot to recommend itself. But, we know there are other, similarly-sized SUVs from competing carmakers. If you're searching for a new SUV, and other models from Mercedes-Benz or BMW are stealing your attention, let us explain all of the ways we've discovered that prove the Audi is the better choice for you.

The Audi Q7 SUV vs. the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350

  • Utility. Let's face it, one of the reasons why a lot of families turn toward SUVs is because they want something that can help them tow a family boat or camper. If either of those are a part of your family's weekend plans, the Audi Q7 is the better choice for you over the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. That's because the Mercedes-Benz SUV tops out at around 7,000 pounds for towing capacity, but the Audi Q7 towing capacity goes all the way up to 7,700 pounds.
  • Engine choice and power. The Mercedes-Benz GLE 350 comes equipped with a standard, 302-horsepower V6 engine. That's it. Drivers don't get to pick how they want their SUV powered. But, with the Audi Q7, you do get a choice. The first is a 252-horsepower, turbocharged four-cylinder. The second is a V6 that's rated for 333 horsepower. Not only does this give you more options than the Mercedes-Benz model, it also means you can get more power with an Audi Q7.
  • Tech features and amenities. The Audi Q7 also gives drivers more tech and convenience features standard than the Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. Look for standard keyless entry and ignition on the Audi, as well as a power-folding third row and exterior mirrors that are both heated and power-folding. These features are not standard on the Mercedes-Benz, but are available as add-ons.
  • Standard safety equipment. The Audi Q7 also does more to keep you, and your family, safe. It has standard parking sensors and collision mitigation with pedestrian detection, while none of these advanced driver aids are standard on the Mercedes-Benz model, only optional.

The Audi Q7 vs. the BMW X5

  • Standard all-wheel drive. All-wheel drive, which is actually called "Quattro" by Audi, is an essential safety feature drivers look for in modern-day SUVs. It gives you added peace of mind and a sense of security when driving in inclement weather, which is why Audi equips every Q7 in their lineup with standard all-wheel drive. The BMW X5 is an SUV, but that doesn't mean it has standard all-wheel drive. In fact, the base model X5 comes with standard rear-wheel drive, and all-wheel drive only becomes available as you move up through expensive trim levels.
  • Third row and space. The Audi Q7 comes with a standard third row and seating capacity for seven. The BMW X5 has a standard two rows and seating for just five people, with the third row available as an addition. Once you add the third row to your BMW, you'll find it's not as spacious as the Audi, and is really so cramped that it's best left to small children.
  • Standard creature comforts. The Audi Q7 also gives drivers more of the amenities they want, starting right at the base model. For example, the Audi SUV gives every trim level standard keyless entry and ignition, leather upholstery, and a power-folding third row. The BMW X5 doesn't give drivers these features as standard equipment, and the only way to get them is to move up to more-expensive trim levels or add on separate packages.
  • Safety features. Both of these high-end SUVs come with a set of standard safety features, which includes parking sensors for the front and rear of the vehicle, as well as a rearview camera. But, the Audi Q7 goes beyond, equipping this SUV with even more standard technologies than the BMW.

Also look for standard Audi Pre-Sense Basic, which gives you the added benefit of pedestrian detection and frontal collision mitigation.
