The 2018 Audi Q7 – Three Premium and Prestigious Models to Cover All Your Family’s Bases

A post shared by Audi (@audi) on

The 2018 Audi Q7 is increasingly becoming one of the top picks for premium customers in search of a three-row SUV in Prairieville, Denham Springs, and Gonzales, and it’s not hard to see why. Recently redesigned, the second generation Q7 is lighter, more fun to drive, and packs more intelligent features than ever before. Coming standard with all the most demanded features, from a safety suite to power-folding third row and tailgate, this three-row utility is enticing, even in base “Premium” guise.

But the Premium trim is one of three models, each one offering more in the way of standard and available equipment. 2018 sees the addition of a new turbocharged inline-four engine alongside the supercharged V6, as well as new compulsory offerings such as Audi’s advanced key and an optional premium audio system. No matter which Q7 you choose, however, quattro all-wheel drive and an eight-speed automatic transmission are standard.

  • Standard Features. 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four engine, Audi pre sense basic & city safety suites, rear view camera, leather interior, Audi MMI, power tailgate, xenon plus headlights with LED daytime running lights.
  • Optional Features. 3.0-liter supercharged V6, Cold weather package (all-weather floor mats, heated steering wheel, rear seats), MMI Navigation plus package (Audi connect CARE, Prime & Plus, MMI Navigation, Audi smartphone interface), towing package, running boards.

A base Premium model may be expected to short-change you on the most needed features, but not on the 2018 Q7. Leather upholstery, infotainment, a power tailgate and folding third row are all standard fair, along with a spacious interior that can accommodate 71 cubic feet of cargo with the seats folded. Right off the bat, you have a choice between both engines, and an array of standard equipment with more connectivity and safety features.

Premium Plus
  • Standard Features. Smartphone integration with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. Audi MMI Navigation plus, side assist with pre sense rear, LED interior lighting, Bose 3D Surround Sound System.
  • Optional Features. 3.0-liter supercharged V6, Driver assistance package (adaptive cruise control with Traffic Jam assist, active lane assist, Traffic Sign Recognition), Vision package (Audi virtual Cockpit, LED headlights, top view camera), Warm and Cold weather, and Ventilation packages.

The same choice in engines remains for the mid-level Premium Plus trim. But when properly outfitted, this model can approach a Prestige in both value and equipment—with more choice. The driver assistance suite is a particular highlight, with high-tech safety systems like the ability to read traffic signs, and actively keep you in your lane. Audi Virtual Cockpit, Full LED headlights, and other features can also be opted into.

  • Standard Features. 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine, full LED headlights, Bose 3D Sound System with 19 speakers/Advanced Sound Staging Technology, Audi Virtual Cockpit, top view camera system, head-up display.
  • Optional Features. Titanium-Black optic package (21’ Audi Sport titanium matte wheels, black front grille/roof rails/exhaust), Luxury package (Alcantara leather headliner, Valcona interior upholstery), Adaptive Chassis package (four-wheel steering, comfort adaptive air suspension), Driver Assistance, Cold weather package, Night Assistant, Bang & Olufsen premium audio.

One could consider the Q7 Prestige fully loaded, even without options. Standard fair includes the supercharged V6, Virtual Cockpit digital instrument display, and a head-up display. You can also make your Q7 visually unique with the Titanium Black Optics package, or bring more quality materials to the cabin. If Bose audio isn’t your style, a Bang & Olufsen audio system is available. One option we can’t recommend enough is the Adaptive Chassis Package. It bolsters ride comfort, shaves three feet off the Q7’s turning circle, and lets you modulate ride height.
